The human part
The short version
I've never had just one job title's worth of work, and I like it that way. At Reutech Mining I concept the campaign, write the copy, design the assets, brief the suppliers and raise the purchase requisition.
Before that, I helped build an EV-charging brand's voice from scratch and spent years writing and shooting content for client brands, while finishing a BCom in the top 10 of my faculty. The thread through all of it: I learn fast, I like owning things, and I care how the work lands with real people.
How I work
-
End to end.
I'd rather own the whole thing (the idea, the words, the file, the supplier, the requisition) than hand it over halfway.
-
Translate, don't dumb down.
Engineers and mining specialists can smell fluff. I make complex products clear without making them less true.
-
Learn it Monday, ship it Friday.
New tool, new industry, new format. I learn fastest with a real deadline and a real audience.
-
People are the point.
My degree is in HR, so every brief starts with a person (the buyer, the engineer, the new hire), not a channel.
Off the clock: music, my first love; writing, a close second (I grew up filling notebooks with lyrics and story fragments); books, from fantasy epics to self-help; and a childhood spent moving all over South Africa, which taught me early how to walk into a new room and connect.
